l have been a part of a few successful wildlife rescues and educate people on wildlife and environmental issues. We have helped in issues to save wetlands, woodlands etc.to save the precious life within. It is well worth the effort. We can all learn to live and work together. Education is the key. In 2011 I won an education award from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority for the work and photography I do. Habitat is fast disappearing and with it, many species are also declining in numbers. So many species can actually tell us the health of our environment and alert us to problems we need to know about. They all need to be protected.

New arrivals at Haliburton Wolf Center

Haliburton wolf center is an amazing place to go to view and learn about wolves. Wolves have such a bad rap and so many people hate them. They are amazing creatures and family is so very important to them. They are not the big bad wolves we have grown up to believe. But soft gentle loving creatures. They want nothing to do with us and will disappear into the woods faster than I could probably snap off a photo. This spring they had 4 new arrivals at the center. 3 males and 1 female. They made their first appearance on July 1st. What a Canada Day surprise. These photos were taken on July 6th. Amazing. Life never gets better then being able to see those spring babies, dedicated moms and curious dads. I sat for a good 4 hours just watching these little ones and their Mom Dad And Aunt's in the enclosure. Luckily they spent that whole time were we could see them. Having 15 acres to run around in, we were lucky. They are like our domestic pups, playing, tugging and squabbling with siblings. Mom puts up with a lot & gets tired. But the aunts take up the slack for her and watch the little ones too. It is a family unit from start to finish.Very touching. Comical and educating. You sit in a nice viewing area with one way glass and can hear them outside playing talking eating through a microphone. You take your photos through the glass and do not use flashes. They come and go. And if you are lucky to get a feeding day. It is incredible. A must do this summer.

                                                       Checking out whats going on.
Three of the adults take a snooze while in the back the pups also are napping on this warm day.
