l have been a part of a few successful wildlife rescues and educate people on wildlife and environmental issues. We have helped in issues to save wetlands, woodlands etc.to save the precious life within. It is well worth the effort. We can all learn to live and work together. Education is the key. In 2011 I won an education award from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority for the work and photography I do. Habitat is fast disappearing and with it, many species are also declining in numbers. So many species can actually tell us the health of our environment and alert us to problems we need to know about. They all need to be protected.

Vindy,Our last days with her. Our precious baby,November,2009

Vindy came to us 8 years ago as a rescue dog. She was found in the middle of the road wet and starving all curled up in a thunder storm. She was thought to be about 3 years old but we didn't really know. Vindy became part of the Howard clan. After a few medical issues throughout the years. Vindy was always a joy, never asking for more than love and food. Loved her treats. And just loved life. Never to far away from any of us. Vindy developed heart issues last year and over time got worse. She was such a sweetheart. We knew it wouldn' t be long. And l think she did too. We did everything we could do. But then decided that medication was just hiding what was there and her quality of life would not be. She was clearly having problems. Then started having seizures too. It was time. It just got worse and she was telling me with her big beautiful eyes it was time. Nov. 17th at 11:20 am. Our vet came to the house and sat with us and her and we made the decision. She was ready. We could tell. We think she was about 10-11 years old. These next few photos are of Vindy and my son & husband and myself. And Max our husky. Who misses her dearly. His best bud. She is missed so very much by all of us. God bless her.!

Vindy,2009

My son Jeff & Vindy,Jeff is at college now and home on weekends. He spends a lot of time with his dogs when he is home. When he comes home this weekend it will be hard for him.
Vindy and her best bud Max.
A gentle breeze was blowing and caught her ears. The weather this month has been amazing and she was able to enjoy it as best she could.
Here she is perking up as the crows are calling. That always means that something is a miss. Vindy always knows there is a cat or a fox or something close by and always loved to call back if you will and go check out the yard . It was so cute.
My husband and l spending some precious moments with her on her last day with us.

Horses Nov.14/09

Don't ask. Not sure what these 2 are doing. But it looks like a duet to me!!!
Rolling in the dirt seemed to be the number one pass time at the stables this morning. And they had fun doing it. Oh to be dirty.!!

This beauty was just curious and had to come a visit me. Beautiful.

Horses playing tug of war. Nov.14/09

This pair was really goofing around. And apparently it was tiring work!!
This guy was playing hard and yawning in between. Was so funny.
They just kept grabbing each others halters and tugging.
Looked a little dangerous at times but they kept it up and it was all in fun.
Looks rather intimidating ,but they do it all the time and they were only grabbing the halters. l guess they were board. And by the way. The brown horse started it. Although it looks the other way around here. LOL.!!

Horses,November,14/09

These horses were very photogenic . Full of spirit and mischief. Was great photographing them. These 2 were enjoying a morning smooch!
Breakfast time.
Enjoying a good romp.
Coming to check me out.
Here is the mischief starting in this pair.

A look towards Barrie catching the sunsets golden glow and some ducks in the for ground.
This shot captures the mist that is setting in behind in the trees along the shore line.

Big Bay Point,November,14/09

A walk to the point this afternoon was quite successful. Very large flocks of ducks were flying in out in the middle. This flock of common goldeneyes were just off the point and took off.
One common merganser female leading this flock of common goldeneyes.
Female common mergansers.
A look up the lake towards Barrie. This is the government dock on the point. Some people out there enjoying the day fishing.
Lady bugs every where. These 2 were snuggled in the tree crevice.

Buck & Doe,Innisfil. Nov.12/09

Around 5 this evening l was lucky to spot this pair in a field off the road.
Very beautiful stance ,the female was very curious and the male stayed back. They were quite a distance from where l pulled over. And there was quite a bit of tall grasses between us. l was lucky to find a bit of a gap were l could take these shots through.
What a beautiful doe.

Gray Jays,Algonquin. Nov.10/09

Gray jay feeding, these birds are a bit larger than a blue jay. Not as noisy, they peeped at us every time they got some food as if to "say thank you very much"!!
l used my son Jeff's little camera to get these shots of me holding the birds.

The morning mist in Dwight before we left for Algonquin. Was beautiful.
