Cecopia moths mating June 4th

I was very fortunate to have witnessed one of these big moths never mind 2 mating. First the female was hanging on to this wall and then the next day she was joined by a male. They mated all day into the night. She was there 2 days total. Then the 2 parted ways. The female will go and lay her eggs and they both after a week will both die. There job done. Then we noticed in behind where they mated was a big cocoon from same species.We are hoping that it will hatch very soon or it means it has died over the winter months. Which would be a real shame. These big beautiful nocturnal moths are nothing but big gentle giants of the moth world. Incredible. They are covered in fur of vibrant colors. These 2 were very freshly hatched so hopefully this one to will hatch out to fid a mate and complete the cycle again.

New family of little gray fluffy babes

On awaiting for what seemed like forever. These wee mute swan babes finally hatched. Momma had laid 6 eggs and got 4 beautiful healthy wee cygnets. The following are the family of swans from hatch day to 6 days old. Also I have a one year old cygnet in here from last years family. She had 2 last year for her first ever family and lost one. So this little beauty is her first born babe from last year. They are so precious. The bond between mom ,dad and babes is incredible.

May 16th while visiting my sister I was kinda lucky to watch these guys in action over the lake. The helicopter was dropping divers and then retreiving them. It was very interesting to watch and great to know if anyone needs them they would be in good hands for sure.
