This is a mute swan strutting it's stuff.
Getting chased by another trumpeter. Wing span is amazing.

Stretch those wings.
SML family with 2 onlookers. One cygnets is giving a bit of a stretch.

This mallard got in the picture this time. There were mallards everywhere. It was a photographers dream.
That SML family being confronted again by this other group.
This would be a good teaching lesson for the young cygnets. You can see them getting in on the act here too.
Here the 2 groups for a circle. The honking was great.
Here they all are in the group forms again. The biggest problems were a group of 3 adults and a family with 5 cygnets. By the end of the day the SML family did get pretty close to shore. But still didn't quite make it in. They did hold there own though.

This is our SML family again getting a little closer.
What an incredible mouth.
There is something about being surrounded by some 200 swans that makes you forget your problems. It is amazing. Great therapy.
The grace and beauty of these swans was incredible.
Now now get along!!

A new family coming into the wintering area causes friction with the regular crowd.
New kids on the block,the Six Mile Lake family.
This time of year the swans are displaying for a mate or to get a mate for the upcoming breeding season.
Beautiful.

Mallards,black ducks and a kingfisher in flight.
Mallards were eating something. l couldn't make it out. But it must of been good. they were really on a feeding frenzy in these next few shots.

Latest l have ever seen a Kingfisher this date. Here it is at a distance in flight.
Kingfisher in a tree over the water.
Just felt like taking this one. Just a nice shot of a nice quiet place close to the lake.
