Been a slow start to the spring this year. And unlike last year were our lake did not freeze. This year it is taking its time thawing out. On this day there was quite a bit of open water here were the ducks n geese were gathering. As I stood there on the shore I watched as the ice moved and broke up. Pushing chunks of ice up here and there making for beautiful shots. The day after it was closed in again with only tiny patches here and there. I can only assume the winds have blown the ice all to this side and the other side hopefully is open.On April 11th I saw my first loon flying over towards the frozen lake. Hopefully out there somewhere it found open water.
