l have been a part of a few successful wildlife rescues and educate people on wildlife and environmental issues. We have helped in issues to save wetlands, woodlands etc.to save the precious life within. It is well worth the effort. We can all learn to live and work together. Education is the key. In 2011 I won an education award from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority for the work and photography I do. Habitat is fast disappearing and with it, many species are also declining in numbers. So many species can actually tell us the health of our environment and alert us to problems we need to know about. They all need to be protected.

Backyard birds

Been very busy around the house these days. Female cardinal at the feeder, male house finch who finally got me up with his beautiful song one morning very early. I'm glad he did as I got some wonderful shots of him.And this next one I love. The male pileated doing his thing while a hairy pair carry on oblivious to his being there. Very cute. Kept me occupied watching them and their antics for a while. Pileated could of cared less as well of their presence as they bounced around him up and down the trunk of the tree chattering away, while he was busy getting some good eats. The male cardinal has been singing his heart out every day. The color is so brilliant and the song oh so beautiful.
