Got a call while we were out in the boat to go see a nest. It was on the end of a sailboat and they wanted to ID the birds. So on our way back in we checked it out. These hatchlings looked not to old. And they turned out to be Eastern Kingbirds.
4 wee ones in the nest right at the bow of the boat.
Apparently this pair has nested on the bow of this sailboat for the last 3 years. And the owners think it's great. They wait until the young have fledged before they do any boating. l would say this pair has picked the right boat to live on. But what a strange place to build a nest.
