l have been a part of a few successful wildlife rescues and educate people on wildlife and environmental issues. We have helped in issues to save wetlands, woodlands etc.to save the precious life within. It is well worth the effort. We can all learn to live and work together. Education is the key. In 2011 I won an education award from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority for the work and photography I do. Habitat is fast disappearing and with it, many species are also declining in numbers. So many species can actually tell us the health of our environment and alert us to problems we need to know about. They all need to be protected.

Muskoka Wildlife Center November,1/09

My friend Ann and l had the most amazing day ever at the Muskoka wildlife center. We went today with a photography group led by Ray Barlow. We got some up close and personal adventures with some of the wildlife there. This baby lynx was so amazing. It played like a kitten. Ran around, hid behind the trees. Occasionally we got a chance to take it's photo. But we had such a wonderful opportunity to watch and learn about this animal. It was a lot of fun. Every animal here has a story to tell. They are cared for by a wonderful group of very amazing people. They teach all ages and l highly recommend you visit with your families. Or just yourself, whatever the case may be. You will never forget your time with the animals at this wildlife center.. You will be amazed.. l am going to post a few of my photos over the next few days. l have over 1100 photos to go through and only maybe 5-10 bad ones in the lot. Pure luck l would say. But oh what a day. And now the task begins. Color me happy!!! We will start with this baby lynx and go from there. Enjoy!
Playing peek a boo with all the photographers. Oh what fun it was.
Here we have an adult lynx. What a beauty.
l got a lot of wonderful shots of this very pretty cat.
And here we have a baby cougar. Oh this was the highlight of the day for action. This baby ran and ran, jumped and leaped. It was spectacular. Photo taking was not an option at the beginning. But after it tired out a wee bit (and only a wee bit) and tired out it's human care givers. Who l must say enjoyed the romping a great deal and got a good days worth of exercise in a short time. They to are amazing guys. To watch the interaction was a wonderful experience. We got the chance to get some totally amazing photographs of this baby. Oh what a precious little (or not) being.
