l have been a part of a few successful wildlife rescues and educate people on wildlife and environmental issues. We have helped in issues to save wetlands, woodlands etc.to save the precious life within. It is well worth the effort. We can all learn to live and work together. Education is the key. In 2011 I won an education award from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority for the work and photography I do. Habitat is fast disappearing and with it, many species are also declining in numbers. So many species can actually tell us the health of our environment and alert us to problems we need to know about. They all need to be protected.

Red Fox at her den, March,31/10

l just spent 3 days at my friend Ann's in Toronto. We covered a lot of miles in the greater Toronto and surrounding areas. We saw some wonderful things. This little fox was busy at her den,not sure wether she has little fox kits yet or not. But it sure appeared as if she did. With the beautiful weather and the warmth of the sun. We just sat at a distance and watched her going in & out of a couple of the den entrances. Then she disappeared for what we figured was a nice afternoon nap and after half hour or so we disappeared and moved on to the next wonderful adventure. This was the second fox we had the pleasure of photographing in 2 days. Beautiful.

Short Eared Owl on ground,March,7/10

While watching these owls a couple of them landed out in the field.

Trees n birds.

These trees as you can see have quite a lot of character. l stood there and looked them over a few times realizing the things l could pick up in each one. These trees are all very old and very artistic. And each play a valuable part in the survival of animal habitat and our fresh air. They are incredible. Not only do l see a lot of character in each one ,but l also have seen some beautiful animals and birds in them as well. Including my most recent young raccoon shots. This was a good day of shooting.

Trees & Fungus

Trees,March,'10

While walking the other day l noticed the big old trees on the point in the wooded areas. When you look at them they all have a story to tell. Just check them out and see what you see in them.

Longtail ducks,Burlington,March 8/10

While coming back from Simcoe we stopped under the bridge in Burlington. l could not believe the number of long tail ducks in this spot. Upwards to 1000 easy, all long tails. Amazing.

Ice on Lake Simcoe. March

Some more interesting shots. Ice can be a very interesting subject to shoot.

Ice on Lake Simcoe. March

Doing a walk around the point here. l decided to check out the shoreline. The ice is built up at the shore and looked very interesting for photos. Not much water showing yet but it is coming. This was taken on March17th.

Bald Eagles March 2010

As you may see this immature bald eagle in flight has radio tracking on it's back. This would be one of Bird Studies Canada's birds from there program.
