l have been a part of a few successful wildlife rescues and educate people on wildlife and environmental issues. We have helped in issues to save wetlands, woodlands etc.to save the precious life within. It is well worth the effort. We can all learn to live and work together. Education is the key. In 2011 I won an education award from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority for the work and photography I do. Habitat is fast disappearing and with it, many species are also declining in numbers. So many species can actually tell us the health of our environment and alert us to problems we need to know about. They all need to be protected.

Deer on the move

I couldn't believe how many deer I saw on my Sat. adventure. At the end of the day my total was 100.

Be careful when out and about these days. 3 ran across the road within a 15 min period. One stood and looked before crossing and waited until we stopped, the others ran across in front of a car.

Always watch out. If one crosses,I find there will usually be a few more behind it.Be patient AND alert. This was around 6:30 or so in the evening. But I also saw many herds grazing in the early morning and throughout the day as well. Absolutely beautiful. Also saw many signs of spring. The geese are chasing others away from their mates. And the snow is melting leaving spots to sit and view the wildlife.

It's comforting to know there is a healthy deer population. The reward is seeing them from time-to-time. Lovely photographs as usual.
